The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Consultant with strong demonstrated business analysis and test management skills, specific to legal finance, and risk and compliance services, to join the team at Altruistic Ventures. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting top-tier global law firms by analysing their business processes, designing innovative solutions, and conducting robust testing to ensure the successful implementation of technology and operational improvements. This senior position offers an opportunity to work independently, collaborate with leading legal professionals, and drive transformative changes within the legal industry.

Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the legal industry or a professional services environment.
3. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects within the legal landscape firms.
4. Strong knowledge of legal industry operations, processes, and technologies, including document management, practice and case management, compliance, eDiscovery, and legal analytics.
5. Extensive experience in gathering and analysing business requirements, developing use cases, and designing functional specifications.
6. Proficiency in conducting thorough testing and quality assurance activities, including developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts, and execution of end-to-end testing.
7. Familiarity with data analysis and migration techniques, including data mapping and transformation, data cleansing, and data validation.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyse complex problems, and propose innovative solutions.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, understand their needs, and effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.    

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyse the business processes and workflows of top-tier global law firms to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency gains, and technology integration.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project objectives, and develop comprehensive project plans.
3. Design and document business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications to guide the development and implementation of technology solutions.
4. Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance activities, including developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts, and executing end-to-end testing of legal software applications.
5. Perform data analysis and data migration activities, ensuring the accurate and seamless transfer of information between systems.
6. Collaborate with developers, engineers, and project managers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the implementation phase.
7. Provide expert guidance to clients on best practices, industry standards, and emerging trends in legal technology and business process optimisation.
8. Develop and deliver training materials and user documentation to support the adoption and effective use of technology solutions.
9. Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
10. Stay up to date with advancements in legal technology, industry regulations, and market trends to provide strategic recommendations and thought leadership to clients.

• Development cycle tools such as Smartsheet and JIRA
• BPMN tools such as LucidChart and Visio

Work Patterns

This is a full-time opportunity. The role can be worked on a flexible basis and a negotiable hourly rate. Our team members work a variety of agile working patterns, both remotely and onsite with our clients as required.
